Conservation Grazing & Pony Handling

Supporting people and organisations working with conservation grazing and minimally handled equids.

Ponies can play a valuable role in shaping and restoring landscapes. Bringing them into conservation projects also brings responsibilities - understanding their needs, supporting their welfare and finding practical ways to manage them within often complex environments.

CONSERVATION GRAZING CONSULTANCY

I work with land managers, conservation organisations and individuals to develop thoughtful, practical approaches to conservation grazing with equines.

From planning new projects to supporting established grazing groups, I offer advice on pony selection, social relationships, welfare, management and the practical challenges of caring for equids living in extensive landscapes.

My approach brings together equine behaviour, welfare science and hands-on experience, considering the needs of the ponies alongside the ecological aims of each project.

WORKING WITH MINIMALLY HANDLED PONIES
Practical Workshops, Training & Support

Working with unhindered or minimally handled ponies brings particular challenges, especially when essential care or veterinary treatment is needed.

I offer practical, horse-led training for individuals and teams, helping them develop the understanding, skills and confidence to work with ponies safely and with consideration for their welfare.

Whether you're looking to arrange a workshop for your team, develop handling skills or find a way forward with a particular group of ponies, we can tailor the training to your animals, environment and circumstances.
